K.IZUMI Art Publications Limited has closed down.
My father an art collector and writer started the publishing
company in 1990 in Kyoto, before moving to England. He was
determined to publish books of a high standard and quality of
primarily Japanese and British artists and photographers whose
creative work he both admired and collected. When he retired
at the end of the last century, I took over the mantel.
I have endeavoured to continue his dream, which became mine,
and have also included photographers from South Korea, the
United States of America, and Germany.
The rise of the internet and the sad demise of bookshops,
[twenty book-shops in the United Kingdom closed last year, as
have a number of Public Libraries] has meant that we are no
longer able to produce books of a high standard or quality,
and it is with deep regret that we felt that we had no
alternative but to close.
